I'd like to take a look at it and see if I can take over.

Hi there, Due to changes in my personal life, and need to take care of our second new-born, I can no longer continue to develop the Calc Solver component as a task owner, and need someone to take over this role. The code is pretty much self-contained and isolated from the rest of the codebase. I have made extra effort to make my code easy to follow. Though there may be some moderately complex codes in several areas, they are well localized thus should not affect the readability of the overall code. This is a perfect opportunity especially for someone who wants some real hands-on experience on hacking code and wants to lead a project that is important to the Calc project. I'll make myself available to answer questions and provide assistance to get started if needed. All the Calc Solver code is in CWS scsolver02. It is in good state i.e. is known to compile and known to work. There is no known bugs, but of course that doesn't mean that they don't exist. ;-) The Wiki page for this is located at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Optimization_Solver The issue tracker for this task is at http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=8808 The spec page is located at http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Spec:Optimization_Solver for now. But the location may need to be moved to match the conventions followed by the other wiki spec pages (just ask someone on [EMAIL PROTECTED]). Actually it may make sense to just turn the first wiki page into a specification to avoid duplicated documentation, but it is up to the new owner of course. ;-) It is an interesting project. It is not too hard to get started, and is reasonably challenging. So, if anyone out there is hungry for some interesting coding experience, please raise your hand. You will be much much appreciated. :-) Kohei --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
