> Subject: [users] PROBLEM WITH DATES CHANGED IN OPEN OFFICE CALC
>
> Hello,
> I have encountered a problem with Open Office which I
> have been using for years (currently on a computer with
> Window XP and then with Open Office Ver 2.2.1) I have
> numerous Files in Calc recording events by dates in my
> preferred format of eg 22 Sep 07 (available with Eng Aust
> settings.) Before a recent change of hard drive in my
> computer, I did a complete back up of all files etc on an
> external back up.
> The hard drive was replaced and the repairer reinstalled Open
> Office V 2.2.
> I returned my back up files to the computer but found that
> the history files had dates changed from e.g. 12 Oct 02 (my
> preferred format) to 10 Oct 90 etc. I thought I could just
> do and Find '90' and replace with '02'. This was fine until
> I started to correct a file with '07' dates and realized the
> the date which should have been 13 Aug 07 was changed to 11
> Aug 07. This became obvious because all entries in this one
> file are for actions carried out only on Mondays. 13 Aug 07
> is Mon and 11 Aug 07 is Sat. With other files with dates I
> so far only checked one that I had a print out of so I know
> the day numbers are changed. With some other files with
> changed dates but I have no idea what the day of the week was
> when I recorded an action. I have files which I have made
> PDF copies of for e mailing so I can see with them the
> obvious changes to the 'day number' of the date.
> I have since uninstalled OO V 2.2 and installed 2.3 but I
> cannot say any date file I have is now accurate.
> I have asked numerous friends - Open Office users - and
> no one has heard of this happening or what is the cause or the remedy.
> Sorry about the long e mail but I could not explain what
> has happened in less words as it seems unbelievable to me and
> others for this to happen.
> I would like to know if I am alone in experiencing this problem.
