I am returning with my favorite subject:
Using scrollbars to create animated graphics.
Having a cell which controls some values displayed in a chart
is the easiest way of creating animated graphics.
In OO-3.0.0_Dev this is fast enough to be "real" animation.
But there still is an issue.
Pressing the arrow at the edge of the scrollbar does reasonably fast
animation, and clicking inside the scroll region of the scroll bar
also updates the chart immediately. Grabbing the slider control element
with the mouse and moving it around, however, does not immediately
update the chart. The chart only updates when the control element is
released. If the chart would react immediately, thaw would allow
much finer control of animation speed. Is it possible to change the
behavior in this way?
Excel 2003 does this kind of thing really nicely, but Excel 2007 is so
much slower that it does not work really well any more.
So this is an area where OOCalc could beat Excel on its own ground!
