The patch you provided unfortunately didn't work on my machine (problems with
chmod on files). However, I used the other workaround mentioned in
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MASSEMBLY-301 -- specifying an empty assembly
id.
It has been commited for kernel, nmr and features in

Could you verify that the result is still building OK for you as well and
