I'd like to revert this commit for the following reasons:
* for the full smx distribution, snapshots are provided in the system folder,
so it slows down things *a lot* to force the lookup in the apache snapshot repo
* for the kernel and users installing snapshots features, we can expect them
to build the projects locally or ask them to add the repo
