L.S., I got the initial bits and pieces together today -- https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/SM/Documentation+project describes the current state of things. There's still a problem in Hudson, where I'm unable to get it to automatically publish the manuals to people.apache.org. For now, we'll have to deploy the updates manually from time to time.
