Yeah, that's something I have been wanting to look into for a while:
to improve the usability/readability for our documentation.  Thanks
for your suggestion to auto-expand the navigation blocks, that was an
easy-to-implement first step so I changed that on the documentation
pages just now.  We probably want to do quite a bit more though (like
e.g. marking which element of the TOC you're currently looking at or
provide a breadcrumb to give some context) - those things are on my
todo list as well, but if you or anyone else fancies contributing a
few more of these improvements, I'll gladly apply those patches!
