Ok, Let's just keep an eye on when Karaf 2.4.0 will be out and try it, if it impact too much on the time, then maybe ok for an intermediate release.
Ont thought about the version number: at the beginning I was thinking that it would have been more appropriate for a technically simple upgrade to increase only by a micro version, so 5.0.1, but as I believe that Camel and Karaf are the most significant technologies in Servicemix, and Camel is updated by a minor version (from 2.12.3 to 2.13.0) and the same would be eventually for Karaf (from 2.3.4 to 2.4.0), I agree then to increase ServiceMix by minor version too (from 5.0.0 to 5.1.0).
