I won't even ask why something that "is not really used" is marked as a
"dependency" ;-)

I am just a maven novice so I have no idea what is going on.
But it seems suspicious to me that the build.xml has this line
<get dest="${libdir}/xbean-spring-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar"
usetimestamp="true" ignoreerrors="true"
src="http://dist.codehaus.org/xbean/jars/xbean-spring-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar";>
But in http://dist.codehaus.org/xbean/jars/
<http://dist.codehaus.org/xbean/jars/>there is no
xbean-spring-1.0-SNAPSHOT.jar. There is however a
xbean-spring-2.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
