I figured you might be worried about that. I just pinged the MyFaces dev list. I'm taking a back seat on this release but apparently its bogged down. Very frustrating - but I will vent on the appropriate list.
I think I can exclude the 1.1.1 stuff from sneaking into petstore via the framework transitive deps. I will change back to 1.1.1 once I get that figured out.
