Hi everyone! My name is Yong Wan, and I’m truly honored to have been invited to become a Committer of Apache ShenYu.
While researching API gateways, I discovered ShenYu — a high-performance, Java-based API gateway. An excellent API gateway plays a vital role in any business system, serving as the critical entry point for external services. As I delved deeper into ShenYu, I was increasingly drawn to its outstanding architectural design, clean code style, and many other strengths. Throughout this process of learning and exploration, I have grown significantly and gained a deeper understanding of sound architectural design. The Apache ShenYu community is highly inclusive and open. Every new contributor can find opportunities to participate in open-source projects and gain both growth and enjoyment from contributing. For me personally, evolving from an observer of the open-source community into an active contributor has been a rewarding journey. Not only have I improved technically, but I’ve also experienced the joy of communicating and sharing with the community. I truly enjoy it! I would like to express my special thanks to Apache ShenYu PMC member Hongyu Liu (Aias00) for his guidance, and I am also grateful to everyone who provided code review suggestions. Being invited to become an Apache ShenYu Committer is just the starting point of my open-source journey. In the days ahead, I will continue to actively participate in the community and make my own contributions to open source! Best regards, Yong Wan
