[Waffle|http://dblock.github.com/waffle/] (Windows Authentication Framework) is
a simple authentication framework that delegates authentication to the host
(windows) machine. This lets you use the machine/domain settings with *zero*
configuration.
Integration with Shiro should be pretty easy. It likely makes more sense to
host this in the waffle project, but I will add an issue here so there is
something to point to
