In fact, there is a client OpenID support for Shiro through the official
extension: https://github.com/bujiio/buji-pac4j.
Currently, it works with Google (it used to work wih myopenid.com which has
been shut down). Other OpenID providers could be implemented easily and I'm
willing to help in this work...
