I just communicated with Les through email. He said:
Shiro is still alive and well - the core Shiro team however has been
very busy professionally, on vacation during summer months, and
working on Shiro 2.0. We have been asking that the community support
itself even more while we've been busy this summer.
The best place to receive support is on the Shiro mailing list. If
the Shiro developers don't answer, its because it is summer time and
many are on vacation with their families or working on work deadlines
So don't worry about Shiro. After summer vocation these issues will be resolved.
