Hi!
The Apache Maven project migrated from JIRA to GitHub.
I want to propose the same.
Before we vote, those options were considered for Apache Maven:
1/ try to migrate issues and make JIRA read only
2/ make all our JIRA projects unable to create new issues and new issues
would be raised on GH
3/ do not change JIRA but slowly switch to GH
We settled on Option #1 per vote, and I did the first few, small repos
together with Sandra, and then Matthias did the rest (dozens).
I would love to do the same for Shiro.
So: Do we want to go the same way (#1), or another way (#2, #3, other…)?
#2 is practically already done, so the main question is:
Do we want to MIGRATE the existing JIRA issues?
My vote would be: Yes, migrate the old issues, but take care with
security-related issues. This makes it more transparent for users, as GH
issues are way more visible to users.
