Thanks Travis for following up with Nadeem! I have also used pgrouting and it *does* do a good job as long as the underlying data is good. I found that some of the OSM data in certain areas does not route well for a variety of different reasons. Mainly because the nodes don't touch/close properly but I think pgrouting has ways around that. I will look forward to your feedback on this!
