Hello all
Having seen no feedback after 3 days, I assume that we have lazy
consensus and will proceed.
Thanks,
Martin

Hello all
A reader for reading GeoHEIF files has been in development in the
"incubator" group of modules of Apache SIS for approximately 2 years
[2]. GeoHEIF is a proposed geospatial extension of the HEIF format,
like GeoTIFF is an extension of TIFF. While HEIF is an international
standard, GeoHEIF is not yet a standard. But an OGC working group has
been created for GeoHEIF and a draft of what may be the GeoHEIF
standard is already published as an OGC Testbed report [1].
I propose to promote the HEIF module to the endorsed group of modules,
and therefore includes it in the next release of Apache SIS. While
GeoHEIF is not yet standard, the "Geo" part is a very small part of
that module. The vast majority of the code is for reading the HEIF
part, and that part is standardized. The "Geo" part will be easy to
change if the OGC GeoHEIF Standard Working Group decides to do
something different than [1].
The reason why I would like to promote the GeoHEIF reader is because
even if GeoHEIF is not yet an approved standard, the SIS reader is
already used in OGC Testbed at least as an experimental tool for
prototyping standard draft, benchmarks and conformance tests.
Including this module in the next SIS release would simplify this work.
