FYI, according to my measurements, logging an event to file takes about 20 
microseconds. Inferring the caller takes about 15 microseconds. In other words, 
inferring the caller roughly doubles the CPU cost of each log call. (If that 
sounds 
bad, keep in mind that several years ago the ratio was 10, not just 2.

I am tempted to apply Peter's patch under the assumption that Boris can have 
his own 
implementation of JDK14LoggerAdapter where the caller is not automatically 
inferred.
