Hello Boris, I think you just found a bug in the slf4j-api pom.xml.
SLF4J can be compiled against the 1.4 jdk, but that pom says that it should be compiled targeting the 1.5 version. You can simply change the two 1.5 values to 1.4 in the maven-compiler-plugin configuration elements. It should run fine then. The faulty pom.xml file will be corrected shortly in the svn.
