I've just got the Slider AM starting on Windows from a client running on Unix.
the JIRA includes a screenshot: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLIDER-171 This isn't deploying anything; that will need the agent to work as well as the packages. the config slider/src/test/clusters/morzine/slider shows what had to be done: a windows classpath was set up and then the cross platform java home (JAVA_HOME.$$()) invoked with a classpath build up using the x-platform classpath separator field- look in ClasspathConstructor for that. Once the VM was set up, -especially its networking and firewall (off), Hadoop running and the ports actually known, it took less than 30 minutes including test runs. Hadoop is pretty fast to install on Windows too -a single dialog box, but you do need to go to the service manager and set all of the services to automatically run on startup. windows config and the VM network was probably the most complex of the process, that took > 1h, mostly debugging Sumit: the next bit of the project is yours, I believe. -steve -- CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE NOTICE: This message is intended for the use of the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information that is confidential, privileged and exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
