log level affects test results

A cautionary tale: I modified the log4j.properties in my slider.conf.dir to
see if I could get it to change the amount of console output for the
tests.  It didn't, but it did make some funtests fail, because they are
relying on the "slider list" command to tell if a cluster is running, and
"slider list" writes its output at the INFO log level.
