Summary: unit tests failing on ssl initialization due to keystore

There appears to be an issue running the unit tests since at times the test
security directory exists prior to the initialization of the test and therefore
not all required SSL artifacts are created. I believe the best approach is to
add code to the test setups to delete the security directory if it exists,
ensuring that the test runs with a clean environment.
