I have no graphic skills either, but would like to provide my suggestion.
Please ignore if it doesn't make any sense.
I visualize a logo with a hard turtle shell and an elephant trying to slide out
of it, with only its head (with trunk) and 4 legs visible. The hard shell
symbolizes YARN and the elephant symbolizes SLIDER. The background is a
yellow-bellied-slider which is a land and water turtle belonging to the
Emydidae family. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow-bellied_slider
