you can't set the {{slider.conf.dir}} property in {{slider/build.properties}}
and expect to see it picked up, it must be set on the command line.
Although there's some fallback in the pom to use an offline file, that
reference doesn't resolve if the tests are run in a component's directory —only
from the root of the project.
