not any more ... we've switched to hadoop's branch-2 to pick up some new features —some of which are being targeted at long-lived applications like slider (I'm working on YARN-913 for example).
We need to use these, to be ready for when Hadoop 2.6 ships (later this year), and to find any bugs in the code.
