being an Adobe partner for some time now - specially for their server products - I consider that a very positive statement. Not only does this fill a gap in the Adobe offering but I think it will also benefit the CMS development.
Although Adobe has a lot of closed source products they also have a history of open specifications (e.g. PDF) and lately open source development.
