This seems to be caused by configuration {{<stylesheet>maven</stylesheet>}} in
https://github.com/apache/sling-parent/blob/3fdb306971308cf471ee85c72fb86b0bc4087d69/sling-parent/pom.xml#L276.
It was there forever but seems it was inactive prior to
https://github.com/apache/sling-parent/blob/3fdb306971308cf471ee85c72fb86b0bc4087d69/sling-parent/pom.xml#L276.
We should switch to default "java".
