I think this is a great idea. I'm using Scala and have started to explore using Apache Pivot. You can use scala to programmatically build your ui but they also allow JSR-233 support. Currently they are only showing scripting support for java and javascript. This past weekend I asked if scala was supported but they were unaware of any scala script engine support. I'm very interested in testing this out with Pivot. Personally I believe that if you want to let the scala community to try this out I would recommend that you include the jar in a maven repository for download and include a pom file with all dependencies. Personally I think github is also a good place to know about the scala script engine as that's where many people post their scala code. (I don't know if there is an issue with Apache projects posting on github.)
Also, it would really help if you posted this suggestion on the Apache Pivot user list to gauge the interest there and perhaps answer any questions. Thanks very much. -- View this message in context: http://apache-sling.73963.n3.nabble.com/Move-Scala-scripting-Engine-to-a-more-suitable-home-tp2719860p2748636.html Sent from the Sling - Dev mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
