Description:
Auth core is doing having different "integrations" with reporting
authentication attempts: events and metrics. Both add overhead in terms of
dependencies to auth core - for use cases where this is not needed, it would be
nice to not require these dependencies.
As events are used in several core modules, it is not worth removing this.
However, metrics could be made optional
