My main concern is (and that's why we are doing it differently in Oak) that this means that the project only runs tests with outdated versions of dependencies, so if you only update when you have to because of CVEs, you'll risk surprises due to minimal changes in behavior or actual breaking API changes. Of course you could run tests with different versions of dependencies (FileVault does that), but of course that can get quickly get ouf of hand because of the many combinations that would need to be tested.
