Right now we are still using the 1.2.x codebranch of logback, but that one is
no longer maintained. We should switch at least to 1.3.x.
But that update requires some rewrites, as Joran was changed slightly.
Unfortunately the documentation of these changes is still missing (see
https://logback.qos.ch/manual/onJoran.html)
