Carsten Ziegeler commented on SLING-2752:
-----------------------------------------

I think once SLING-2477 is implemented we should:
- if a configuration is read from a config node, changed and then written back,
it should be written back to a config node again
- if a configuration is read from a file, changed and then written back, it
should be written back to a config file again
- we add a configuration property which defines whether new configurations are
written back as a config node or a config file
- for me, it doesn't matter what the default of that property is, I guess many
people will vote for config nodes, so let's use that

> Revisit re-saving of config settings in light of support for wider range of
> types.

> Post SLING-2477 we need to revisit SLING-1971 to ensure that anything done
> there to enable write back of configuration settings still works. Exactly
> what needs to be worked out.
