Felix Meschberger commented on SLING-3069: ------------------------------------------ Additivity and level are properties of the Logger instances and not of appenders. So adding this kind of attributes to the loggers properties is bound to create race conditions: Depending on which appender is first configured, the logger will be differently configured. I would take logging level and additivity completely out of the appender service registration picture. > Allow attaching an Appender to a Logger without changing its existing Log > level > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: SLING-3069 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLING-3069 > Project: Sling > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Commons > Affects Versions: Commons Log 4.0.0 > Reporter: Chetan Mehrotra > Priority: Minor > Labels: logback > Fix For: Commons Log 4.0.0 > > > Commons Log now supports attaching Appenders as OSGi services. Current > implementation while trying to attach appender also modifies the Log level to > INFO if none specified.
