Since I'm not sure on how to proceed further, I asked for further opinions at
http://sling-dev.markmail.org/thread/bnltgbv2b6conpau . Briefly, if this is
considered 'small enough', I will commit it as-is. If not, we have to work
through a software grant process ( see
https://www.apache.org/dev/committers.html#code-import ).
