about 2. I followed the existing pattern that use statics.
about 3. I followed a suggestion given by [~fmeschbe] on a private
conversation.
Said that I would be fine with the changes you suggested (unless my comments
above made chage your mind :p). As said I am not too familiar with this area of
Sling.
