Yes, all serializable objects not directly supported by JCR are stored this 
way. It would be nice to have a transparent way in and out - for this we would 
need to store another property containing the names of the props that should be 
handled this way  (to avoid clashes with real binary properties). But that's 
maybe something for another issue.
