Fix For: Content Distribution 0.1.0
After renaming (Replication -> Distribution) and splitting of core and api
modules it'd be good to revisit and review current API to make it cleaner.
Main issues: remove unused / unneded APIs, refactor transport / authentication
API as they mix the authentication algorithm implementation with providing the
authentication secret to the transport algorithm.
