Timothee Maret commented on SLING-4894:
---------------------------------------
Thanks [~cziegeler] for looking at this. IIUC, this proposal and SLING-5745
share the same goal of offering a mean to move artifacts from ignored to an
installed state. I am fine if we chose the explicit approach (SLING-5745)
rather than the implicit one proposed here.
> Allow failed package install to retry later on

> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Installer
> Affects Versions: Installer Core 3.6.8
> Reporter: Timothee Maret
>
> Currently, when an artifact can't be installed for any reason, the
> OsgiInstaller will set the IGNORED state. The installer does not retry to
> install artifacts with the IGNORED state.
> This issue tracks allowing packages installations to be tried later (for
> instance on restart) when they fail.
