[~egli] Short answer :) no, there no reason for not keeping Java 6 as the base
for this module, simply declare the sling.java.version property with the value
"6" and that should do the trick.
In general, Java 6 is EOL and users of Sling should really have moved on the
Java 7 or 8, therefore for us there shouldn't be a reason to keep Java 6
support. But we can decide on a case by case base of course
