Karl Pauls resolved SLING-7232.

Resolution: Fixed
I merged the removal and created SLING-7240 to remember to add it back in when
we have a launchpad.base release.
[~cziegeler], if you give me the thumbs-up I would go ahead and call a
launchpad.base release now (please although have another look at SLING-7186,
just to make sure).
