Hah. Always fun to be first :) I was actually implying that the ResourceStream class which is a singular object file would fit best in the Sling Resource API like Eugen suggested. It's a fundamental feature of Java 8 which would be beneficial to a number of bundles.
I'll open a pull request for that.
