Robert Munteanu commented on SLING-8951:
----------------------------------------
Setting the version to a different timestamp on each build makes sense and I
validated that setting the version to a release one generates identical jar
files between two builds.
However, I would argue that in the reproducible builds scenario, as we expect
the bundle contents to the the same, the version should be the same as well.

> Recently all relevant Maven plugins have been updated to support reproducible
> builds (https://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-reproducible-builds.html).
> The new ASF parent 22 will manage those versions
> (https://github.com/apache/maven-apache-parent/blob/master/pom.xml).
> Also there is a flag for bnd for this
> (https://github.com/bndtools/bnd/issues/3521).
