I am using it to launch Peregrine CMS as a FM which works like a charm.

The only issue is the loading of the extensions. Right now JCR Packageinit only
works if loaded ahead of the Feature Launcher which works when loaded from CLI
or through Maven dependencies but that might not work with the Starter JAR. But
I guess we will tackle that when we are there.
