Let me ask this another way around:

Do you mind if I start a Sling Channel on the ASF Slack Workspace and whoever
wants to join can do so.

I do not see the risk of fragmentation or information dilution.

I would love to use Slack to make it easier to ask questions, discuss new ideas
or just hang out with other devs in a more informal format. The hurdle / burden
on asking a question on the mailing list is high both for the people asking and
the ones answering (at least for me). There is a lot going on with FMs right
now and the documentation is not thorough enough to have a good understanding
and some of it is even not up to date. Slack would help to ask, discuss and
answer questions around such topics quickly and with relative ease.

If it does not work out then we can still shelve it.

Cheers - Andy
