OSGi annotations in Sling

After the presos of Chris Schneider and Carsten Ziegeler at adaptTo() 
2019, I was under the impression that OSGi Descriptive Services are 
fully supported with Sling 11 and the Sling IDE tools plugin in its 
current version 1.2.2.
Subsequently, this created a pretty long thread at sling's users mailing 
list as I succeeded to deploy new bundles in Felix, but not in exporting 
the java packages, even using @Version annotation and package-info.java.

Now I hear from Chris that the bnd-maven-plugin V 3.5, supplied by the 
Sling IDE tools plugin for Eclipse and declared in the pom as 
dependency, is too old to do the export packages job.

Can anybody confirm this? Will this be upgraded any time soon with a new 
version of the Eclipse plugin?
