Karl Pauls commented on SLING-9365:
-----------------------------------

[~jsedding], yes, that was the discussion. I POC'ed a single resource resolver
and that works much better but has the downsides mentioned above. That is why
[~cziegeler] was thinking of doing it without mounting them at all. I POC'ed
that as well and I have it working but it is a little clunky on the hook-up. I
think you idea of using ResourceDecorators for doing that hookup might be
exactly what I would need to make that work in a good way - thanks!

I'll try to get that into my POC as well and report back.

> Optimize servlet to resource provider servlet mounter

> Reporter: Karl Pauls
> Assignee: Karl Pauls

> Fix For: Servlets Resolver 2.6.6
>
>
> The current ServletMounter creates a resource provider for each registered
> servlet. That works fine for a given amount of servlets but can become
> problematic for a high number of servlets as it means that on the one hand,
> the number of services is doubled and on the other hand, a lot of
> notifications are send out as well as a lot of computation has to be done by
> the resource resolver.
> As an optional remedy for these kinds of scenarios, we should allow to
> configure the mounter to instead provide a single resource provider that has
> manages the servlets internally.
