Robert Munteanu commented on SLING-9498:
----------------------------------------

[~andysch]

{quote}In the long run Sling Starter will be retired, I assume, and will be
replaced by a native Feature Model solution.{quote}

Is there any reason to not do the replacement in the same repository? We
already have the name, the SCM history, etc. We can run the conversion
"in-place" and call it a day.

And yes, in the end we'll only have the FM model files, this is just a first
step. I started setting up a on-the-fly conversion based on your work, see
https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-starter/pull/9 . Unfortunately
it fails the first time it's run, for some reason I did not yet manage to
discover. But the second time running {{mvn clean install}} it works. Have you
seen this before?

> Create feature model aggregates on the fly from the build - oak_tar and
> oak_mongo. This should use the feature-converter-maven-plugin to create the
> feature files.
