@paul-bjorkstrand, I'm afraid that you'll have to send this PR to https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-scripting-sightly. Starting with version 1.4.0-1.4.0 of the {{org.apache.sling.scripting.sightly}} module we support loading Sling Models directly in the https://github.com/apache/sling-org-apache-sling-scripting-sightly/blob/master/src/main/java/org/apache/sling/scripting/sightly/impl/engine/extension/use/JavaUseProvider.java.
