I've reached out to various folks on Slack about SOLR-14438 and SOLR-15412.
It's unclear to me why we need to hold up the 8.10 release for SOLR-15596? Without more details of what is needed in 8.x, it seems like a problem we need to solve in 9.x ... If we want to wait on a solution that's cool too, just need some clarity on how to proceed here.
