Hi, We currently have two sets of Http clients in SolrJ, causing all kind of confusions and duplicate code etc. Let's get rid of Apache HttpClient in 9.0, but to do so we need to deprecate its use in 8.11. There is already a JIRA for this in https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-15223 by dsmiley
